"Hardening Your
Heart"
Dear Heavenly Father,
I ask you today to oversee every aspect of my life. God, it is so easy
to want to have my own way, it is natural and the way of this world. I
am quick to feel that I know more than the person I am talking to, know
how to drive better, know what is best for me and those around me...
and in some ways that is good. But when I try to apply those attributes
to my life in all things I find that I fail to be what You want me to
be. Sometimes even when I'm about to give someone a "piece of my mind"
or even as I begin to think how I can do this without becoming involved
or having it affect me, I know in my heart that it will. My "conscience"
is telling me. Every time I ignore it I am hardening my heart. It
becomes easier to do the next time. Help me Lord to act upon those
inner tugs on my heart and do what is right, not what I want.
