Detours…
Dear Lord,
Everything was going along so
well it seemed and then…
I know I am impatient, and want
things to happen right now. I know that my plans are not always your
plans and when that happens, I am bound to face detours…
Please help me when I feel like
I have “hit a wall” and don’t seem to be going anywhere that it is
because you are in control. Help me to see that this is an
opportunity for me to learn and grow.
Develop within me the ability to
“stop, look and listen” before I try to go around that obstacle in
the road. Teach me that the “dead end” isn’t one but a chance to see
you in action, a time for my growth in trust. Help me to continue on
the days and times that I feel like giving up, like my prayers are
not effective. Teach me that you are more than able to accomplish
all things and that all I need to do is keep on praying and trusting
through all the times of ordinary days and through the detour days
as well…
