Times of Adversity

"We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed;

we are perplexed, but not in despair;

persecuted, but not forsaken;

cast down, but not destroyed;

always bearing about in the body

the dying of the Lord Jesus,

that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest

in our body."

2 Corinthians 4:8-10

Father, I thank You that even though at times I may be hedged in and pressed by oppressors on every side, even though I might be troubled and oppressed, I am never crushed.

Even though I may suffer embarrassments and be faced with perplexing situations, even though it seems as if I am unable to  find my way out.  I will never be driven to despair.

Even though I may be pursued, persecuted, and hard driven, I know You will never leave me or forsake me.  You will never desert me to stand alone.

Even though I may be struck down to the ground, I shall never be struck out or destroyed.  You are with me, You are for me, and You are in me:  This is the formula of success and victory for my life.  I shall never give in, I shall never give up, and I shall never quit.  My ultimate victory is guaranteed in You.

You said that in this world I would have tribulation but to be of good cheer because You have overcome this world.  You said that the afflictions of the righteous are many but You deliver them out of them all.  Thank You, Lord, for delivering me from adversity.  In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

". . . for he hath said, I will never leave thee,

nor forsake thee."  Hebrews 13:5

"These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye

might have peace.  In the world ye shall have

tribulation:  but be of good cheer;

I have overcome the world."  John 16:33

"Many are the afflictions of the righteous;

but the Lord delivereth him our of them all."  Psalm 34:19
