Prayers . . . for children

PRAYER AFTER A CHILD IS INJURED

Compassionate Father, I bring to you a family so numb and afraid words won't come when they try to pray.  Their precious child was injured in a terrible accident and they don't yet know the outcome.  Give them peace and  family unity, God.  Help them draw closer to each other and to you, knowing that you have all power and can do anything.  You work out everything for good.  Show them how to rest in  you as they wait, trusting you.  Let them feel your love wrap around them.  Keep fear, blaming, and resentment far away.  Don't let bitterness add to their distress.  Help them give you all their anger at whoever caused this accident.  Grant wisdom to the doctors.

Hold the child in your arms, Father.  Let health flow from you into him.  Banish any permanent bodily injury or grain damage.  Mend broken bones; knit torn tissue, ease his pain; speed his healing.   Give him a deep relationship with you, Lord.  Draw this child so close he feels fused to you.  Surround him with your peace and love.  Give him a bright future.  I pray through the healing name of Jesus, Amen.

But God, if you choose to allow the unthinkable, give the family grace to release their beloved child to you, knowing that you love him . . . and them.  You will be with them always.

Amen

"He welcomed them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who needed healing."
