Prayers . . . for loved ones, friends, and strangers

A PRAYER CONCERNING INFERTILITY

Father God,  you are worthy of praise and adulation.  I bow before you and offer thanks and gratitude to you for your ongoing love and care.  Lord, the plight and frustration of my friend is well known to you.  Barrenness is so painful, especially when all around her are happy families.  Squeals of small children fill the parks and playgrounds; moms and dads with kid-packs strapped on stroll along sidewalks.  My friend notices every pregnant woman.

My friend longs to start a family.  She and her husband's love for one another yearns to be expanded to include children.  Father, if the time is right, would you bless her with a baby?

She desires your will, Father.  Give her peace and contentment through this time of waiting.  Help her realize that, as the author of life, you are trustworthy and totally reliable.  Give her confidence that you will choose the best for her and her husband, and that when they finally meet you in heaven they will understand everything.  In Jesus' name.
