Prayers . . . in times of worry and stress

Help Me Get Along with My Neighbor

Lord, this has been such a difficult struggle with my neighbor. It has cost me so much, and I continue to pay a very high price.  If I could take back what I said to her as a result of the damage she has done to me, I would.  But she will not accept that I am sorry for what I said.  She will not allow me to apologize.

You warn us over and over in the bible to control our tongues because they are desperately wicked.  Somehow it seems that I must learn this lesson the hard way!  I am so sorry.  Please forgive me and help me to accept your discipline in this.

How can my neighbor be so selfish and mean and uncaring of another human being?  You say, Lord that we are to pray for our enemies, and she is my enemy.  Sometimes I get so angry, Lord, I almost choke on the words.  I say terrible things to you about her, and the I have to repent of my awful attitude.

Lord, give me grace daily to deal with this situation.  I get so discouraged and angry.  I do pray for her salvation, since I know that is her only hope.  Please help me to have the attitudes and feelings you want me to have toward her, for my real love is to please you.  Thank you my precious Lord and Savior.

Amen

but a man of understanding hold his tongue."
