Prayers . . . on ending

HEAL THE RIFT IN OUR FRIENDSHIP

O Lord God, I can hardly believe that my friend , who I have loved dearly for years, could hurt me so badly.  We've worshiped together, laughed together, and prayed for each other.  I love her as fervently as I love my own sister.  Why would she do this to me?  Did I do something to precipitate it?  Did I hurt her without knowing it, causing her to seek revenge?

I tried apologizing even though I didn't think I did anything wrong.  She didn't want to listen.  She refused to discuss it.  Reveal the source of the problem to me, Lord.  Show me how to make peace with her.  Should I follow the instructions of Matthew 18 and take a neutral party with me to talk to her about it?  I don't know what else to do.

Lord, if she refuses to reconcile and continues to treat me badly, help me forgive her.  Let me see her through your compassionate eyes as a wounded creature you love and wish to restore.  Nudge me to pray for her often.  Teach me when to let the matter drop so that you will have time to heal it.  Make me willing to turn it over to you and wait patiently for your solution.  I believe that you will answer my plea for help.  Help me understand what it is you are trying to teach me through this.  I pray this in Jesus' name.

Amen

"If it is possible, as far as it depends on you,

live at peace with everyone."
